Presale Access

TS_TM_CustomBlog_1024x614_v2.jpg

Ticketmaster Verified Fan is Taylor's way of ensuring that fans get first access to tickets. Once a tour has been announced, a link will become available where you can register. This link is typically available on Taylor's website as well as Ticketmaster's. If you already became a verified fan during the Reputation Stadium Tour or Lover Fest, you will need to register again.

The reputation presale was an interactive way for fans to earn presale access by earning points on Taylor Swift Tix. These points are known as boosts and they come from things like buying merch/albums, watching videos, sharing to social media, referring friends, and more. This was not brought back for Lover Fest, instead previous boosts from the Reputation Tour were kept on everyone's account. Only fans who were pre-existing verified fans could RSVP for preferred presale access. New fans would have to wait longer to register for presale and were automatically not prioritized for better presale access.

For Eras Tour, Verified Fan adopted the lottery system. Fans register and are randomly selected for presale access. There was no way to increase your chances of being picked, though some fans got a boost for purchasing Midnights merchandise. This boost did not really affect the selection process though. Many fans were waitlisted and never got off the waitlist.

Ticketmaster Verified Fan now works very different to previous tours. Essentially, you must register every time a tour has been announced. They use a lottery based system that randomly selects fans to get presale access or get waitlisted. Some people trying to get Harry Styles tickets made 7 different accounts and they all got waitlisted. There's also no way for them to boost their chances of being picked for presale.

As of right now you can no longer register for Verified Fan as the registration period has ended. In the meantime, favourite Taylor as an artist on ticketmaster. They will notify you when a tour is announced, new shows announced, when tickets are about to sell out, etc!

***FYI- this is only something that fans in North America can do as Ticketmaster Verified Fan is only available for US and Canadian residents.

Capital One Presale

Taylor currently has a partnership with Capital One and for Lover Fest, they had their own presale for cardholders. They got access to presale 2 days before tickets became available to the general public. This partnership and presale will likely return for Taylor's next tour. For Eras Tour, Capital One fans got access the next day after presale. It was originally meant to happen the same day, but was postponed due to the disaster that was presale.

Upper Bowl

This section is the cheapest, given how far away the stage is. For the rep tour, some were able to find tickets for $45. Pricing varies at each show but you are looking in the $45-$150+ range for this section. The view can be a little dicey. Many people watch the concert through the jumbo screens. Some people choose to bring binoculars to see better. You can still have a ton of fun in this section! A lot of people get upgraded from the upper bowl to somewhere lower down. I find a lot of people in the upper bowl sit down? So it can help you to stand out if you’re up and dancing. People do get chosen to meet Taylor from this section, it is just more rare. This is because you’re significantly more difficult to access.

Lower Bowl

Prices will go up in this section as you are closer to the stage. Pricing varies at each show, but you’re looking at $150-$300+ range. I’ve sat in the lower bowl multiple times and had a blast. Taylor is easier to see, and if you go by the B-stage, the view is even better. I recommend trying to get as close to the floor as possible. Taylor will go to the back of the stadium partway through the show. You have a really great opportunity to see her from the lower bowl during this portion. The majority of fans are chosen from the floor and lower bowl due to their easy access.

Floor

My personal favourite section! The view is excellent, and the prices aren’t as high as pit. This is where Taylor Nation walks around during the show. Most fans are chosen to meet Taylor from this section. You can go right up by the main stages or B-stages. For the rep tour, I went and got barricade by the B-stage and she grabbed my hand. Tickets here are around the $250-$600+ range. I HIGHLY recommend it if you’re able!

Pit

The priciest section, but without a doubt the best views. Tickets typically are around $600-$800+. Taylor looks like a real person, she’s that close. Some people have been selected to meet Taylor from here, but rarely. You’re harder for TN to access. For Eras Tour, there is no pit section.

Ticket Upgrades

Upgrades work essentially the same way that M&G selection does. The most enthusiastic fans are selected by TN or the venue staff to get moved to a better section. A lot of these fans are selected before the openers even start because they are so energetic. Fans can be upgraded to any section including floor, pit, or the VIP seating areas. There is no set number of upgrades that are given out each show, and it really depends on the show you're going to. TN will sometimes upgrade fans instead of giving them a M&G pass. Or if fans have met Taylor before, then they'll upgrade them instead of letting them meet Taylor again. Take those same M&G tips, and apply them here. A ton of people get upgraded by going crazy before the openers start/while they're on. The higher up you are, the more likely you'll be upgraded. Most fans are chosen from the upper bowl, but there is a good variety of sections that also get upgrades.

Aisle Seats

Sitting at the end of rows makes it easier for TN to reach you. It is more rare that they make their way through an aisle to get to someone in the centre. Not to say it never happens, it just happens a lot less than those toward the edges.

Q: Where is the best spot to sit to get a M&G?

#1: Floor

Floor is the area that TN walks around during the show, looking for fans to invite to meet Taylor/give upgrades. You're most accessible to them in this section. If you've got an aisle seat, even better! You're that much easier to reach.

#2: Lower Bowl

TN regularly goes up into the lower bowl to select fans, it just happens less frequently than floor.

#3: Pit

It is harder to get noticed and chosen from here as everyone is packed so close together. People do get selected from here, but it is rare.

#4: Upper Bowl

This is in last place just because it takes TN so much longer to reach people in the top sections. Especially with venues that go into the 500 and 600's for seating. It can still happen, but you'll more often see people get upgraded from this section.

!!! - Buy tickets based on where you think you'd have the best time. If you spend the whole night trying to meet her, you won't have a fun time.

Q - Can you get upgraded and also get invited to meet Taylor?

Absolutely! Some fans get extremely lucky and because they're so enthusiastic and amazing they get both.

BUY YOUR SEATS BASED ON WHERE YOU THINK YOU'LL HAVE THE MOST FUN. NOT WHERE YOU THINK YOU'LL BE CHOSEN.

MOST VENUES HAVE THEIR REGULATIONS LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE. YOU CAN ALSO CALL OR EMAIL THE VENUE TO ASK ABOUT THEM.

PACK LIGHTLY AS MOST VENUES HAVE BAG RESTRICTIONS. TYPICALLY ANYTHING LARGER THAN A BACKPACK WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.

MOST VENUES FORBID CAMPING OUTSIDE FOR TICKETS.

YOU MIGHT GET GLARED AT BY OTHER FANS WHO ARE UPSET THAT YOU'RE HAVING FUN. IGNORE THEM!

Fan Projects

You're On Your Own Kid Project

Inspired by the line "make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it", swifties will be making bracelets to trade with other fans at their Eras Tour show. This will be happening at every show, including international shows which are yet to have been announced. The exchange will take place outside of the venue before doors open. There are no rules regarding how bracelets are made. You have total creative freedom and can make any type of bracelet. The creator recommends creating multiple sized bracelets so that you have sizes for everyone's wrists. Meetup areas will likely be created closer to the beginning of tour/shows. For more information, please visit @erastourproject on instagram or tiktok!

Eras TayBow Project

During the first chorus of Lover, fans will point their screens towards Taylor to create a rainbow within the crowd. Each section has their own assigned colour, and these colours can be downloaded or screenshot from their Carrd website. They recommend downloading it ahead of your show in case venue reception is bad. Phones will need to stay unlocked and on their brightest setting for the best opportunity for Taylor to see it. I will include the link to their website so you can find what colour you'll be for your show! Click here. Their instagram is @erastaybow.

A Chronicle Of Eras Project

For this project, they are accepting submissions for a fan scrapbook. Submissions are grouped together by eras and they plan to give it to Taylor Nation on 8/5/23. Then, they will pass it along to Taylor. "

What era did you become a Swiftie? Maybe you are a Fearless Swiftie; falling in love with her lyrics while languishing in your living room listening to Love Story. Maybe you are a Red Swiftie; she understood the pain of your first, world-shattering heartbreak All Too Well. Or maybe you are a new Midnights Swiftie (welcome), and you are just now exploring the Labyrinth of the fandom. We are creating a one-of-a-kind, over-the-top scrapbook containing stories, poems, and photos from fans that touch on every era of Taylor’s discography." Submissions will be accepted until June 13, 2023. After the scrapbook has been given to TN, participants will be emailed a scanned copy of the scrapbook that they can download and view. Click here to view their website and add your submission!

Accessibility Guide

- Noise Reducing Earplugs: The main conflict when it comes to neurodivergent individuals and concerts is how loud concerts are. Earplugs help to reduce excess background noise while still allowing for the music to be heard clearly. An added benefit is that they also prevent damage to the ears and conditions like tinnitus! The most highly recommended earplugs for live events are from Loop Earplugs and they can be found on amazon for around $50 CAD.

- Know Where Your Closest Exit/Bathroom Is: If you get overwhelmed or overstimulated and need a break, it's important to be aware of where you can go at that time. Most venues offer stadium maps where these places can be seen.

- Attend With A Friend Or Someone You Can Trust: They can make sure you have a good experience and help support you if you're feeling like it's too much. Try to organize a meet-up spot in the case that you become separated at some point.

- Bring A Fidget Toy: Even something like a smooth worry stone can be helpful in giving you something to keep your hands busy and your mind calm. This is especially helpful during breaks in between sets and songs.

- Go Towards The Back Of Floor: If you're feeling overwhelmed at your floor seat, try going to the back of the floor. There won't be many people there and it'll give you some time and space to yourself.

- Arrive Early: Seeing a sea of people can be very anxiety-inducing. Get there early to get yourself acquainted with the venue before it becomes overcrowded.

- Bring A Doctor's Note For Medication: It can be helpful to take along a doctor's note when bringing in medication, so you can be cleared quickly when being searched upon entry. It can also be helpful to write out your health conditions and medications in a list to make it easier to explain to staff.

- Remember That No One Will Be Focused On You: Everyone will be focused on the concert or themselves, so don't get caught up in what other people think of you. Don't feel like you have to mask- if you need to stim, do it!

- Expect Bright Lights: If they become too much for you, they can be dimmed by wearing sunglasses! Again, don't worry about what others think, prioritize yourself and your needs.

Security Is There To Help You: Most are trained to deal with this sort of thing, and they can help you if you're feeling in need of assistance at your show.

- Don't Be Afraid To Sit Down: Take a few moments to rest and gather yourself at your seat when needed.

- Park Close To The Venue: This reduces the amount of walking you'll have to do that night. Most venues have accessible gates with parking that are close to the stadium.

- Mobility Aids: You'd be surprised how much walking is involved at stadium concerts. Mobility aids can help you navigate through the venue and make it easier on your body. Even bracing joints that are weaker or need extra support can be extremely helpful.

- Bring A Supply Kit: Anything you need to get through the night and for emergencies. It might take a bit longer to search, but it'll be really valuable if you need something during the concert.

- Take Care Of Yourself Before You Go: Ensure you've eaten, are staying hydrated, and have taken any necessary medications before arriving at the venue. It's important to make sure you keep hydrated and aren't forgetting to eat once you're there. Being well rested is also extremely important, so take it easy the day before and day of.

-- Electrolytes/Supplements: If you're feeling faint, bring some things with you to bring up your energy. Water is also super important for moments like these. Salt packs, sugar, etc

- Know Where Emergency Personnel Are: Hopefully, you won't need to go see them, but it's helpful to know where they can be found in the case of an emergency.

- Leave Early Or Wait Until It's Less Crowded To: This makes it easier for you to leave without being blocked by a large crowd of fans.

- Wear Light Clothing: It will be the summer, and these venues are quite hot. Not to mention, if you're dancing and having fun it will cause you to heat up. I personally get V E R Y nauseous when I overheat, but for other people they can faint from it. Dress in light clothing with minimal layers if possible.

- Weighted Blankets: These are helpful for those with sensory issues, and usually blankets are allowed inside the venue after security inspection.

- Compression Socks: Helpful as you'll be standing on your feet all day and walking quite a bit.

- Accessibility Services: Need at least 6 weeks notice to accommodate for disabilities, so reach out to them ahead of time.

- Medical Supplies/Medications Exempt From Clear Bag Policy: It will still be searched upon entry, but you will not have to have them clearly visible unlike other items.

- Most Venues Have Sensory Kits: These can be collected upon entry and used during shows.

- Get Outside Food Pre-Approved: Proof of medical dietary restrictions is required in order to bring in outside food, contact accessibility services ahead of time to arrange this.

- If You're Prone To Seizures/Fainting, Notify Security: They will keep an eye on you and will assist if anything goes wrong.

- If You Were Unable To Secure ADA Seating, Contact Accessibility Services: They may be able to move you to a more accessible seat for your show.

- Courtesy Carts: You can arrange to be picked up by a cart and taken to your seats. This minimizes walking and stress on the body.

- Sensory Rooms: Most venues have sensory rooms for fans to go to if they need to decompress or go somewhere calm and quiet.
